Today, India has embarked on a journey to address its low literacy rate through various initiatives like Sarva Shikshan Abhiyan, Right to Education Act 2005 and Girl Child's Education. GET was formed to supplement this vision by empowerment through education. The philosophy of GET is to reach out to as many children as possible and lay the foundation for tomorrows' global citizens.

India is emerging as a knowledge economy with a GDP growth rate of 5.5% currently and a Gross Enrollment Ratio of 18.8% with a literacy rate of 74% compared to that of 94% in the western world. Today, close to 300 million of the Indian middle class is spending more than 33% of their income towards mainstream & supplementary education.

India began as an educationally developed country, by offering the world, scientists like Aryabhatta, Sushruta, Chanakya & Kautilya, but today it is handicapped to cater to its massive population. GET's focus is to offer education support services where educational institutes are unable to cater to a large scale of the population and are facing challenges in addressing the educational needs of the underprivileged section of our country. Almost 13 Lac students appear for their Std. Xth grade exam in the state of Maharashtra annually. The pattern of examination for Std. Xth is poised to include a Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) format soon. GET is undertaking an initiative to create awareness, sensitise and inspire students to appear for MCQ based examinations. GET through its GET Honours Scholarship Programme aims at building students' analytical ability, time management and decision making skills in preparation for the advent of this format.

The GET Honours Scholarship Programme aims to prepare as well as reward scholarships to students in preparation of the MCQ format. Scholarships not only inspire, but also reinforce behavioural change, promote hard work, achievement of goals and inculcate the practice of seeking new learning and innovation.
